Paper iPhone Dock

22 Aug

Origami DockSo few years ago when I bought the iPhone 2G it came with a dock, among other things, and we all were happy. Then when the iPhone 3G came out, I looked in the box, and to my finding, no dock. So I ran out and bought a dock. Now the new iPhone 4 is out, and yes, no dock. BOO!

So I set out to find a free alternative on the Internet. I came across a paper dock that seemed to be promising. I download the template, cut it out with my handy X-acto knife and folded.

After experimenting with a few different weights of paper I found the correct one. Oddly enough, it is pretty sturdy.

iOS4 on the 3G iPhone

29 Jul

If you are having iOS4 problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but the app aint one!

Like most, you have probably updated your 3G iPhone to latest iOS4 software. This update, which proablly took about 10-12 hours, has given you such new software enhancements as folders, iBooks, 5x digital zoom and enhanced spell checking, among other things. These additions to a such great phone makes you want to, God forbid, go buy and Droid. because is gets so shit slow.

If you have a 3G iPhone, I’m pretty sure you going to want to watch this parody of an Apple commercial.

MacRumors.com has posted an article on the iOS4 problems that you and I are having with our 3G iPhones, but The Wall Street Journal says it best,

“The most common criticism is that the phone is slow after an upgrade. There are also many complaints that the phone drains the battery quickly and becomes excessively hot. Concern about general problems such as slowness and battery life on gadgets isn’t unusual, but using iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G seems to make the problems so bad that the phone is nearly unusable for some people.”

Humorous Comparison and Perception of the iPhone

28 Jun

Caught this on Adverblog this morning. This is an interesting, yet comical, view of the how the iPhone is perceived and compared to,  well, really any other phone out there. Makes you ask yourself the question, “Do you really need the new iPhone 4?”.

The Pirata Boat Race

18 Jun

Here’s an innovative, yet simple, game from Pirata London. It makes an interesting interaction through Flash and the iPhone, proving that Flash and the iPhone play nice together.

What you do is have up to, I think, four players with an iPhone. Before you play the game be sure to have downloaded the iPhone app, then click on the full screen button below and follow the instructions.

Honestly it’s not fun by your self, so call up some friends and have a boat race.

Lego iPhone App

01 Jan

LEGO released their new app for the iPhone last month. With this free app, you can turn any picture taken or stored on your iPhone into a mosaic of LEGO bricks. The LEGO mosaics can be saved in a variety of preset color combinations to your desire. As with any mosaic, if you backup from the image,  it makes the image clearer.

It’s a pretty neat app for those who want to have another filtering photo app for your iPhone. You can get it here for your iPhone.
